Luna - Loughborough University International Foundation Programme in Business 2009-2010
Very well done to Luna who achieved a Distinction and an IELTS 7.5 at the end of her university foundation programme. Luna also won a Loughborough University scholarship which entitles her to 25% off her first year undergraduate fees at Loughborough University. This is the very first time the university Business School has awarded such a scholarship.
This good news came after a year studying on the Loughborough University International Foundation Programme in Business and has more than lived up to her high expectations of Loughborough College.
Luna, who comes from Chengdu in China, says that she first fell in love with England whilst on an educational trip in 2008 and wanted to experience ‘the best education in the world’.
She believed Loughborough College represented her best choice, particularly with the prospect of then moving on to the University.
Luna started her course in September and reflects: “I have enjoyed the multi-national nature of the College. It’s great to have people from different countries, backgrounds and cultures learning together in the same classroom.”
She describes her course as being ‘well organised’ and has found it to be more practical than she expected. “I expected to learn some basic theory but I’ve been surprised by how much I can actually apply in my real life.”
Luna also gives particular praise to her tutors for the support they provided to her during a time when she was experiencing problems. “They were always there to help and to encourage me,” she reflects.
Her course apart, Luna has enjoyed voluntary activities including working in a charity shop being involved in distribution and dealing with donations. She helped to organise a Christmas party with proceeds going to aid young people in South Africa.
