General English Course
Enrolment takes place each Monday during term time (September to June).
This course can be studied while holding a Student Visitor Visa.
Our General English course has both full time and part time study options available.
All students will have an initial assessment of their English Language skills and are offered the most appropriate classes for their level.
Classes consist of 15 to 18 students and the focus will be on all four skills; reading, writing, listening and speaking. The programme also includes pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary.
Entry requirements:
Students must have some basic English Language skills or studied English previously.
Emphasis is placed on:
- Improving your four skills,pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary
- Improving your career and education prospects
- Developing good communication skills
- Cambridge English exams options available

Full-Time Academic English Courses
Enrolment each Monday during term time (September to June)
These courses are innovative, flexible and taught at four levels, lower intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced.
Students develop their Academic and General English skills in preparation for further study at either Loughborough College or university. Lessons are delivered through topics and project work in a communicative style.
Students are prepared for an IELTS test.
All students have an initial assessment and induction in preparation for their studies and are taught in class sizes of 15-18 students.
Emphasis is placed on:
- Becoming fluent and accurate in English
- Developing academic and study skills
- Communicating effectively
- Achieving goals
Progress Tutors will support and advise students throughout their studies. Individual and group tutorials, self-study and homework prepare students for their future at university.

Focus:
This programme will focus on all four skills, Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening.
Weekly IELTS practise tests and regular tutorials with feedback on the equivalent IELTS scores achieved will ensure students develop all four skills.
Course Aim:
Preparation for further study at foundation, A level, undergraduate and post graduate study.

English Summer School
July and August 4 or 8 weeks
This is an intensive course for those students wishing to progress to further study at university level or at Loughborough College and for students needing to improve their level of English for professional purposes.
Students can enrol for a minimum of 4 weeks. This course starts at the beginning of July each year and finishes at the end of August. At the end of the course students will be assessed in all four skills, reading, writing, listening and speaking and receive a college certificate confirming their level of achievement. There is strong emphasis on grammar, pronunciation, speaking and listening.
