Inspiring Others

Zhen first heard about Loughborough College through a friend of his parents and reflects `When I first arrived the teachers really helped me to settle in by explaining about daily life in the UK, the traditions and also helped us settle into the community.
After studying English at the college Zhen progressed to A levels and chose Maths, Further Maths and Physics. His Progress Tutors were most encouraging and gave him extra support with his Physics. They also helped him to decide on the right choice of degree programme. Zhen always wanted to enter a top university and in 2004 gained a place on an Electronic Engineering degree programme at the University of Warwick and in 2007 gained a First Class Honours degree.
Zhen then decided to move to Bristol and continued his studies on an MSc programme in Communication Systems and Signal Processing.
Today Zhen is still at the University of Bristol and has now embarked on a research project into `Collision Avoidance Systems`.
Zhen recalls that he loved sport while at Loughborough College and enjoyed basketball and swimming. He has also explored the UK with his friends and went to London, Birmingham, Manchester, York, the Peak District National Park and the north Wales coast.
We hope Zhen’s story inspires other students already studying at the college or those thinking of studying at Loughborough College and we wish Zhen success with his research project.
