Loughborough College boasts a thriving international community, hosting students from a huge range of different countries around the globe.
Last year the International team at the College were delighted to welcome international students from over 40 countries.
And last month saw a first for the College – a graduation ceremony for a group of 10 students in their native Brunei.
Honoured guest Mr Ak Abdullah Pg Hj Tengah, Deputy Permanent Secretary MOE (Higher Education) was delighted to share in this very first ceremony to be held in Brunei.
The presentations were made by the British High Commissioner to Brunei, Mr Rob Fenn in what ended an excellent year for the international team.
International Development Executive Betty Douglas explained: “The students came here as part of a government scholarship scheme and they have really been enchanting and a pleasure to have here at the College.
“They have got really involved with their studies and also made a positive contribution to College life – we have been delighted with their commitment and friendly approach both to their peer group and teachers”
HND Sports and Leisure Management student Norazriah Metussin spoke on behalf of the students at the ceremony and described her time at the College as “home from home,” in a positive reflection on their experiences.
Later this month Norazriah will be taking up a place at neighbouring Loughborough University on a Sports Science Management degree programme.
