SHOPPING

Loughborough is a busy market town which has much to offer when it comes to shopping. With many well known high-street stores and independent shops you can make the most of your student discount on your doorstep.

For food, there are grocery shops to suit all tastes and requirements that includes small grocers,major supermarkets and specialised international food stores all located in the town centre. In addition a lively market occurs at least twice a week offering a variety of fresh produce, household goods and clothing

EATING OUT

There are plenty of places to eat out in Loughborough with a variety of cuisine on offer including Italian, Thai,Chinese, Mexican, Indian,
Middle Eastern and Vegetarian options. There will be plenty to satisfy your appetite. Firm favourite food and coffee chains are also available in the town centre, alongside independent pubs, cafes and delicatessens.

NIGHTLIFE

Whatever kind of night life you’re after, Loughborough has got it covered. With the local clubs and bars offering dance and music to suit your style ,to a brand new State of the Art Multiplex Cinema. You can enjoy a great night out less than 10 minutes’ walk away from your accommodation .
For student nights, head to the LSU where entertainment is offered throughout the week.

NOTTINGHAM

Around 20 minutes’ train ride away, the city is home to the legendary Robin Hood and Nottingham Castle. A great place for a day out for shopping and dining out As host to two universities, Nottingham has the fourth largest student population in the UK, as well as a thriving creative arts scene.

LEICESTER

Only 10 minutes’ train ride from Loughborough, Leicester is famous for its museums and galleries, its diverse range of cuisines, and its local history; most recently, the discovery site and tomb of King Richard III. The city is also home to the National Space Centre and, with its scenic parks and woodlands, the surrounding county of Leicestershire is renowned for its natural beauty.

DERBY

Derby is a 20-minute train ride from Loughborough, another busy Midland town and the gateway to the magnificent Peak District National Park.
